Candid Comments by Voyager's regarding the 2002-2003 Project.
This Integrated Arts and Sciences Project has motivated me to learn more about
the Arts and Sciences:
I feel like we cannot do without either the Arts or the Sciences; it is made
interesting; I am starting to explore Web Sites on my own to learn more than
I would have had I not been in this program; I am hearing interesting statements
that make me want to learn more.
This Integrated Arts and Sciences Project has created a team for me to feel
connected to others:
We are a true team; I do not feel like we are all working together; I feel
connected to people I would not have been otherwise; we work in groups and
have to be a part of a team to do this.
This Integrated Arts and Sciences Project has created a team for me feel responsible
toward my classmates:
Yes; I have very responsible teammates and they always get their work done; I enjoy the class and like to work with others; we work well together for
our goals,
This Integrated Arts and Sciences Project has created a team for me to take
pride in my work:
Always; because it is fun to work together with my friends; the
leaders make it this way; the leaders make me feel this is important; I have
been made to feel what I am doing is good and I can do it; I take pride in
my work knowing it might be used in later technology or in space.
This Integrated Arts and Sciences Project has created a team for me have fun
with others:
Yes, Yes, Yes; I have fun with others because we try to make names for ourselves
or titles and that is fun; I have fun when we have little parties and get
into groups; getting into groups and working with friends is fun; I really
like having breakfast together.
This Integrated Arts and Sciences Project has high expectations and challenges
me to be the most I can be:
Always; I wish the leaders would explain more; the leaders want everyone to
be their best; they let us express all our knowledge; they know we can do
it; I work hard to do my best and meet those challenges.
This Integrated Arts and Sciences Project has enthusiastic leaders:
Most of the time but they do have a serious side when we need it; they make
sure a serious project is fun; they are happy and ready to go each Friday;
they take this Project seriously; we can tell the leaders really like working
with us; we can tell they love the Project and teach us a lot.
This Integrated Arts and Sciences Project Leadership believes all students
can learn and accepts individual differences:
We are all treated equally; I hope this is true; the leaders believe we are
all different but can all learn; they believe this very much; they accept
our different abilities to learn and achieve; sometimes they cannot accept
when we do things badly and sloppy.
This Integrated Arts and Sciences Project helps me to express myself individually:
Not really; mostly expressing myself in a group, yes, very much so, yes-by
having jokes and leadership; not really because we do everything in a group;
I express myself a lot; yes, because we all have to do more of everything;
the leaders always make sure that everyone gets a chance to speak.
I have learned a lot in this program:
The Teleconference was great; I have learned a few things but there is just
not enough time; yes, about Mars and NASA; I have learned a lot from the Internet;
I have learned a lot about what a Volcanologist does; I used to be not interested
in space but now I am because I have learned a lot; I have learned a lot about
other things than space.
I wish I could do more of:
Lewis and Clark activities; talking with other people; activities; the Mars
VE CD; movies and teleconferences.
What I like about this way of learning:
We do not just sit and listen, we do! It is something you can use now
and in the future; because we use computers; it is a fun way to learn; I can interact and listen to real people talk; I like it because we talk about
space while looking at or doing something; we get to be on computers and learn
more about technology, the leaders have made learning fun with hands-on-activities;
I like our leaders because:
They are fun and have good ideas; fun activities; they are cheerful all the
time; I like the activities in the program like the computer, CD;s movies,
teleconferences and being on Web sites; the leaders way of teaching is very
good; our leaders encourage us to say what we think and there is no right
or wrong, it can be a lot of fun.
I wish the leaders would do more:
Video conferences; treats; show up on time; (leaders note: we have never
been late); less talking.
I could learn better and participate more if the leaders would:
No change; they are the best; explain more; make things clearer; I learn well
already; I do not need any changes; be in the Library more often when we do
not need the computers; have more group time; nothing I like it just the way
it is.
