How did the use of Drama, Dance and Music (Drum) make you remember the Lewis and Clark Expedition and the Character of York?

Since he used drama, dance, and music, it made the information about Lewis, Clark, York, and other information interesting and funny so it stuck in my head.

He had expressions that York might have had at the time, like when he got whipped.

He made it funny, while still giving us facts on the Expedition.

He said the same facts about the journey I knew already. His storytelling form made me remember them even more.

It helped me remember the times of Lewis and Clark because the drum looked like an old drum and his drama made it seem like that time.

He made me remember more because my brain didn't have to work that hard to think back, it just remembered the funny part, musical part, or dance part, he used in that scene.

I learned more because I remembered more of the trek story.

It made me relaxed, but it didn't make me think of Lewis and Clark; the rhythm sounded like it came from the 1800's, when Lewis and Clark were on their expedition and it sounded like African drumming.

The dancing and the music was very strong like how York was strong.

The music went on and on not giving up, just like Lewis & Clark.

I remembered it because when the expedition was stressed, someone would play the fiddle and everyone would feel better.

Music was important to the expedition.

York was very good at telling the stories with actions.

He really sounded like York and made it seem like we right there during that time with York.

What did you like most about the Presentation?

I liked his artistic style of drumming in his presentation.

I liked how he took the facts and made them funny.

I liked that he gave us facts on the Expedition in a way kids can enjoy.

I mainly liked the drum.

You could learn and enjoy things at the same time.

It had lots of humor.

I liked the humor a lot.

I liked how he used many different voices to tell the story.

I liked how he was funny and how he kept our interest and attention.

What do you wish there had been more of in the Presentation?

I wish there were more facts in his Presentation.

I wish there was more audience participation.

I wish he had presented more facts that I didn't know already.

I thought that it was just perfect.

Nothing,  I thought it was great.

I wish there had been more information on Sacagawea.

I wish they put more stories of York when he was a child.

Since I liked him telling stories so much, I wish he would have told more stories.

I wish there had been more time because he was so good.

Write a descriptive sentence about how this Presentation made history come to life for you.
How did it made you feel ?

I liked it a lot better than just reading about it in the textbook.

He told us about it in a very interesting way that made it funny.

It was a real life presentation and not like reading a book.

He could answer questions and we did not have to just sit there.

This type of presentation made me feel interested in History.

It made me feel like I was in some of the places that he was talking about.

It made me laugh a lot and I was just very happy.

It made me feel like I was right there, by Lewis and Clark.

It felt like Bobby Norfolk was actually York.

It made me feel happy because I liked how he played the drum and was funny.

The way he told the story made it seem like I was there.

It made history come to life because he was so detailed and skilled it made me feel like I was there.

Any additional comments?

I didn't know that Cruzatte blamed the shooting on the Indians.

I hope that Mr. Norfolk comes back to our school to do another great performance.

I couldn't stop laughing!

I liked the presentation a lot.

I'm glad he is an actor because he is very good at it.

I really liked the Presentation and I want him to come back to the school again.
