The Columbia disaster occurred
the morning after our NASA teleconference. We will never forget the personal care our NASA scientists gave us that day.
**Our gathering to hear and experience a hands on exhibit and presentation by Peter Geery,
regarding the Discovery Expedition Reenactment .
He made us all feel like we were on that trip as well, with all the original props he brought for us to touch and feel.
He passed away suddenly a week after we talked to him. We mourned his passing as well.
**Our gathering for a unique and incredible, phone/Internet link up with Dr. Ray
Arvidson at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Dr. Arvidson, our distinguished senior advisor, and Chairman of the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis Missouri, is also the Deputy Principal Investigator of the Athena Science Payload, the package of scientific instruments that will be carried by both rovers during the Mars Exploration Rover mission, made the rover
