I liked this new way of learning. Why?
I liked it because it was so interesting and not boring.
I liked having the teleconference because the person you were talking to didn't have to be there but you could still get lots of information.
The speaker was cool and it was cool talking and asking questions about Mars on a telephone.
I liked it because:
We got to see some information before the public got to see it ; we got to ask questions; it doesn't put as much pressure on the student because they are not talking to the Expert face to face; because it was fun and it didn't take that long to do.
I will remember more of what I learned because................
I was listening and seeing pictures at the same time; we were talking to the person in charge of this Voyage; we have already met him and learned a lot from him.
We could hear Dr. Arvidson actually talk to us and explain about certain photos; we could ask him to repeat/answer different things; he gave a lot of information ; Dr. Arvidson thought of us, to give us information, before the public received it and it is headline news.
I will remember more because I could talk to him and look at the pictures at the same time; it was exciting and interesting; because it showed what we are learning about instead of just hearing about it; it is amazing that we get this type of attention from people like Dr. Arvidson; there were a lot of people there and we got to see pictures on a big screen.
I wish there had been more of or less of........
I thought it was just great; I wish there had been more slides and pictures; more pictures from Mars to see; I wish fewer people had asked questions so there would be more time to listen to Dr. Arvidson; I also wish there had been more photos; I wish there could had been more answering time because I didn't to ask all the questions I wanted to; I wish there would have been more questions asked; I got in the newspaper about asking a question; I wish we could have asked questions longer; I wish it had been more of a comparison between the Mars Voyage and that of Lewis and Clark.
What did I learn that surprised me the most?
I learned about the Mars Berries which was very interesting; that they really are finding evidence of water on mars; that Rovers can get filled up with information and they need to be emptied; that they have already found a rock that needs water to exist; that the Rovers move extremely slow; the Mars Berries; that there were Mars Berries on Mars; that the Rovers can scan even little things and take pictures of those small things.
List three things you learned yesterday.
A. That the Rovers are still looking for ice, or water; that the only kind of life on Mars was probably microbial.
B. That Spirit has sent back more information; I learned exactly where the Rovers landed; I learned about the Mars Berries.
C. That the Rover has dozens of solar panels; they found a rock that needs water to form it; they predict the Rovers will last longer than they are designed to.
D. They have plans for an extended mission in a different crater; about the Mars Berries; how many solar panels there were.
E. How much energy they use; that there are Mars berries on Mars; Spirit landed in a Crater;
F. Opportunity is heading for a Crater; there are blue things called Mars Berries; talking on the phone with a famous person could be really interesting for a large group.
G. Asking questions can help you learn more about a subject so you get to learn what you want to know about ; Rovers can get filled up with information and you need to empty them;. Spirit and Opportunity will never meet on Mars.
H. Rovers have cameras and send photos form Mars to Earth without damage; we communicate with the Rovers by using strings of 1's and 0's via radio signals; the Rover can take 360 degree pictures.
I. There are "Mars Berries"; the Rover has two satellite lights; distance learning is fun.
Would you like to do this type of distance learning again?
Yes, I would; Yes, I would; YES; Yes! It was great; YES; yes, it was very fun; I really liked it because I learned a lot; Yes!
Yes, because it teaches you a lot of material.
