When Sacagawea saw her people, she sucked her fingers, pointed at her tribe, did a joyful dance, and jumped up and down. To speak with the Shoshone, Lewis and Clark spoke English to one of his men. That man translated that into French to an Indian who spoke that in Hidatsa to Sacagawea. She then spoke to her Shoshone people.

A woman called Sacagawea joined the Lewis and Clark Mission with her husband. This was a good sign for the Indians because no women travel with war parties.
Sacagawea shows her courage by saving many supplies when the boat tipped over.
